Year 5 Residential Trip

In September Year 5 had the chance to go on a one night residential to Butcher’s Coppice in Bournemouth. The children went one class per night, camping for one night and then doing a variety of different outdoor and adventurous activities the following day. Arriving in the evening after school, children got set up in their tents, had an orientation walk and then had dinner. Then children and staff played a game across the campsite before settling down to an outdoor cinema and then bed. In the morning, children had breakfast and then raced around the campsite to complete 4 different orienteering courses. To start the main activities of the day, children went in to 4 groups and moved around the 4 different activities. These were crate stacking or cave bus, climbing on the climbing wall, archery and shelter building. Once children had completed all 4 activities, they packed up their belongings and were collected in the early evening ready to get an early night ready for school the next day.
