In Year 4 we have recently enjoyed an afternoon exploring the work of Archaeologists. Professor Emma Jenkins from Bournemouth University visited our school to teach us all about the work of Archaeologists. Professor Jenkins and her team brought with them a collection of artefacts and objects which the children were able to hold and investigate.
There were also some exciting artefact boxes to explore. The children were able to use the same tools used by Archaeologists to dig for artefacts They were shown how these artefacts would be recorded, sorted and catalogued.
Year 4 Open Afternoon June 2023
Open Morning 23rd January 2023
Today, we had Year 4’s open morning and we were thrilled with how many parents joined us. In History, we have been learning about the Romans, so in Art we have been looking at Roman mosaics and the work of Gaudi. During the open morning, children worked with their learning partners to create repeated patterns using a given template. The children were very successful and we know this will help them in our next Art lesson when we create our own mosaics.
