  • Year 5 & 6 Sportshall Athletics Event - New Forest District Finals

    Published 27/01/25

15 teams from across the New Forest participated in the Sportshall Athletics finals on Saturday at Testwood School. All athletes raced against each other over 3 events a run, a jump and a throw ending with an exciting mixed relay event. It was all about the experience and taking part as we encouraged each other to achieve some really standout individual performances, whether it was a good placing finish in the sprints, a well- executed or accurate throw or speedy jumping.
We showed tremendous teamwork and also enjoyed supporting our fellow Ringwood- based school teams, cheering on our friends from Poulner School.
Thank you for giving up your Saturday morning to represent Ringwood Junior School so well!

  • Year 5 and 6 Girls Gymnastics

    Published 20/01/25

We were lucky enough to enjoy an afternoon devoted to gym together with other New Forest Schools and had a great time meeting the young leaders, who gave us top tips on how to perform routines and stretches and up level our skills.
We seized the opportunity to explore the gymnastics facilities at Noadswood school, completing a carousel of different exercises and equipment as we moved around the gym. The gymnastics trampoline was a highlight, together with the springboard, beams and performing floor routines with ease on a sprung floor made our round-offs much easier. I’m sure this experience has encouraged our children to explore local gym or Acro groups to continue to improve on their natural abilities.
I’m looking forward to taking some Year 3 and 4 children to repeat this experience in the next few weeks.

  • Year 6 Boys Premier League Primary Stars U11 Schools event

    Published 16/01/25

A fabulous but nonetheless dream shattering morning was spent playing some really skilful football at the Community hub on Tuesday with dedicated Year 6 boys. 16 schools attended and we were put in a tough division. All the matches were intelligently played and exciting so we were pleased to not lose a match and thrilled to put 2 goals against the favourites. Sadly, with the way other matches played out we didn't quite earn enough points to win the division and to qualify for the knock-out semi final but our boys can be proud that they played with their hearts on their sleeves and showed great teamwork supporting each other in every match. Thanks to our great team of supportive parents, as always much appreciated.
We are looking forward to a few more football events before Easter to involve all the other Year groups.
