Year 3 & 4 Tennis

Yesterday, Year 3 and Year 4 competed against Lymington and Western Downland School’s in a tennis event at New Milton and they even played against each other.
Although tennis is an individual sport, we joined our scores together to form a team total. Before the matches, we demonstrated integrity as we ranked ourselves so we played the same seeded player from other teams. It was non-stop tennis to try and score as many points for our team but also to win the match for ourselves.
We needed to focus to keep control of the ball in the windy conditions and try and outwit our opponents with the placing of the ball using the entire length of the court.
We all played some fabulous shots, were respectful to the umpires and opponents and most of all we had smiles on our faces. Congratulations to the Year 3 team, who won the event and gained gold medals. This team has now qualified for the New Forest tennis finals and will play against more teams from across the New Forest in July.
